No More Home Delivered Groceries =(

Just a post to vent about my terrible experience with my local supermarket's online/shopping home delivery service. After yesterday's experience, I guess I'll actually have to return to the supermarket and do my own shopping.

For a few years, online shopping was a very convenient experience. However, with yesterday's fiasco, I'm beginning to think that they have monkeys doing my shopping.

Do you see the pic (at the top of this post) of the three luscious and juicy navel oranges? I ordered three of them. I received NONE but was charged for them............$7.97 not once, not twice but three times! I paid nearly $24 for what equated to three INVISIBLE oranges. They also forgot $23 in other various items but they did not forget to include the two cans of cream of mushroom soup that I did NOT order. You say, it's a bonus? NO ONE in family would ever eat anything with mushrooms.....However, we would eat.........oranges!

Finished Up Another Shabby Pumpkin

I'm liking my newest project. I thought I'd be whipping up a couple more during this holiday weekend but...........my immune system decided to fail me and I am stuck in bed with a terrible cold. Ugh!

I guess I'd rather be sick during a holiday weekend than having to be at work sick!

Feeling Snarky........(hummed to the tune of "Feelin' Groovy")

I am in somewhat of a funk today. Maybe because it's the day after my birthday and all the fanfare and celebration is over.

Who am I kidding? There was little fanfare and relatively no celebration which is just fine by me because I am not a partyin' kinda person. We went to brunch, did little shopping and went to the movies.

However, for those of you who regularly read my blog (I am sure that there is ONE person in this whole wide world that reads my blog - even if by accident or out of complete boredom), the other day I posted a cute set of pumpkins that I made. I listed them on eBay and had one $17 bid and 1o watchers! - OK the watchers were probably competition.

Anyhow moving past all of that, I accidentally threw my shabby little chic-y pumpkins in the garbage! I now, vividly remember packing the pumpkins and weighing the box to ensure accurate shipping charges. Here are some pics of my pumpkins:

Anyhoo, last Friday morning was garbage collection day and I was running around the house like a madwoman trying to gather all the garbage for the truck. I gathered all my EMPTY boxes - only one wasn't empty!

Okay, okay, some of you may actually consider these pumpkins as "garbage" and I only have one thing to say and that's a big RESOUNDING raspberry!

My Newest Project - Actually Completed!

Above is a picture of my latest finished project. I am pretty pleased with the way this Christmas tree turned out.

I sent a picture of the above project to Robin Mynatt who actually designed the fabric I used for my Christmas tree. Talk about getting my ego stroked - LOL!

Hi Angela! The Christmas tree is absolutely gorgeous!! You did a magnificent job on the display too! Thank you so much for sending~ :)

Shabby Pumpkins - Part Two

Here's a matching set of Cottage Chic Shabby Sweet Pumpkins. I completed the larger one this evening.

Ladies and gentleman, Angela may have got her groove back! Next, I guess I should brush up on my photo-editing skills.

Shabby Cottage Chic Pumpkin

My friend Char (from Etsy Cottage Style) is actually responsible for helping me to find a bit of my mojo; and she doesn't even know it yet. She made a gorgeous trio of shabby pumpkins and I thought I would make one with my own twist.

Not as wonderful as Char's but I think it's pretty cute and it may just be the catalyst to get me back in the mode. This one has found it's place on my mantel and is just the start of my fall decorating.

The pumpkin is crafted from Beautiful Life Sweetest Pink Roses on White Ticking by UrbanGardens. The stem is made from Mary Rose 8 White dots on sage. Layered around the top of the pumpkin is white cotton lace to resemble leaves.

Pink ribbon crafted from Hug Snug binding with a sparkling rhinestone button at the center of the bow. Corkscrew pink picot ribbon and strands of white beads finish off this pink little pumpkin.

I did have Mojo...Honest I did! Take a peek!

I did used to have a "mojo" honest I did. See the pics above for proof. I have a few days off. Hopefully, I can make something worthwhile to add to my Flikr gallery. Click here to visit my Flikr Photostream!

Have You Seen My Mojo?

Since the purchase of my new Singer sewing machine this past spring, I’ve have barely had time to use it. It’s a very nice sturdy, machine. It sews even stitches and runs and sounds strong. It sits on my dining room table 24/7. It has dinner with the family every night and breakfast every morning. All the while sitting very patiently to be “turned on” (and I don’t mean that in a weird sewing machine-fetish sort of way.)

Problem is, I’ve lost my desire to sew. I’ve been collecting fabric, trims, laces by the yards with plans to sew my little heart out. Well evidently, after sewing one apron, my heart’s all sewed out. To be honest, I think it’s the sheer frustration of expecting something to be perfect and then finding out that it doesn’t quite meet MY standards – which are ridiculously high (it’s the dratted Virgo perfectionist “thing”).

Rather than let my machine sit and collect dust, I’ve decided to become proactive and signed up for some sewing courses. I’m hoping these two courses will help me to re-find my “mojo”. Who am I kidding? I’m hoping that I can FINISH the courses. I am lacking in the “stick-to-it-tive-ness department!

My Super Duper Kiddo!

My daughter, Cupcake "One of the Loves of My Life" &
"The Pain in My Butt"

My youngest daughter (in the interest of privacy, l shall refer to as Cupcake) happens to be the "creative" genius in the family. Most times you can find her drawing, gluing, cutting something and/or doing something that involves LOTS of glitter. We've found glitter in our food, glitter on the cats, glitter everywhere She single-handedly is responsible for putting a lot of "BLING" in our world.

Last night, she finally decided to clean her room. This took her a whopping three hours! We did check on her from time to time to make sure that she wasn't buried under a pile of clothing and/or garbage.

After three hours, she emerged with the following hairdo:

She somehow put a water bottle in her hair to make her hair literally stand on end!

You know the saying "
Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime?"

In my case, I'd like to amend that to:

"Give a man a bottle of water, he'll have a drink for a day. Give Cupcake a water bottle and she'll incorporate it into a wacky hairdo!"

Crazy kid!

Mother - Daughter Project

Spent some nice time with my youngest daughter, Cupcake" this morning. We actually sat down at the sewing machine and made coordinating pin cushions!

She picked her fabrics out, helped with measuring, did the cutting and piecing together. Not bad, eh?
